About Us

Marist College
Marist College Emerald is a Catholic co-educational secondary college situated in the Central Highlands, three hours west of Rockhampton. The College draws students from Emerald as well as surrounding rural areas including Gindie, Springsure, the Gemfields, Clermont, Blackwater and many rural properties.

The College commenced Year 8 classes in 1996 with the first Year 12 class graduating in 2000. In 2006 the College celebrated ten years of Catholic secondary education on the Central Highlands.  The College could not have experienced the success it has already achieved, if it were not for the support and dedication of the local Catholic and town community.

Walking in the footsteps of Jesus, with Mary and Champagnat as our models, Marist College Emerald should be seen as a faith community teaching the Gospel values which nurture the giftedness and dignity of each person.

Our College encourages practices that assist the students to think for themselves, to be confident and happy, and to cultivate a well-balanced attitude to life. Our College is open to family and community, welcoming all to participate in creating and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Marist College Emerald endeavours to have a pastoral care climate based on the notion of family spirit and Marist charism. Our Mission Statement and motto are also important touchstones for how we form relationships and make decisions. The Truth will set you Free encourages a climate of honesty, accountability and search for the ultimate Truths in life.
